What’s the point of stomach acids? Stomach acids are responsible for killing bugs that we are exposed to in our food and our environment. But many people have an imbalanced acidic environment, where there is an over-production of stomach acid—or not enough.
Both situations can become risk factors for other conditions which may damage the intestinal lining, decrease efficient gut function, and leave the body vulnerable to infection.
Factors that can adversely affect the acidic environment of the stomach include poor diet, lifestyle choices, infection, long term use of painkillers, and emotional stress. Excess acid can be produced in the stomach due to worry and anxiety. Over time, if these emotions aren’t addressed, ulceration of the stomach or intestinal wall can occur.
A number of Essential Oils can help the stomach maintain a balanced acidic environment, including:
• Cardamom
• Dill
• Fennel
• Blue Tansy
• Ginger
• Lemon
• Peppermint
• Thyme
• Digestive Blend
CARDAMOM is an Essential Oil that can assist with gastrointestinal and respiratory health. This is a spice oil distilled from Cardamom seeds, and, like other spice oils, it is very supportive to the digestive system, helping to ease indigestion, soothe occasional stomach discomfort, and maintain overall digestive health.
